Data Cable Security
The FR302-Classification advanced intrusion detection systems provide physical security of fiber-optic data network cables by giving early warning against data tapping, cable tampering, and any malicious activities in the proximity of the cable. The FR301 system can protect the data cable even when it is installed above or below ground at different locations. FR301 can also be used to detect and identify a specific fiber in the data cable installed either above or below ground.
Highlights
-
100% Redundant Configuration for Reliability
Groundbreaking 100% redundant configuration designed from the bottom up to provide the highest reliability in the market. The redundant configuration uses two FR302 systems. Each system is hot swappable, and automatically turns on when the other system fails.
-
Small Form Factor
Smallest form factor in the market. One FR302 system takes only 2U of rack space. A complete redundant configuration with two FR302 systems takes only 4U of rack space. In addition to occupying less rack space, shipping and handling are made easy.
-
Simple Calibration and Tuning
Easy to calibrate and tune the system. Zones are configured using software, adding flexibility to an installation.
-
Retrofitted to existing cables
The system works on any existing single-mode telecom-grade fiber-optic cable in the data network. Once installed, maintenance is low.
-
Long Range and High Location Accuracy
Long Range (up to 100 km per system, up to 50 km each sensor) with pinpoint location accuracy of +/- 6 m of data tapping, tampering, and any malicious activities around data cables. The system has 2 sensors.
-
Cut Immunity
The system is immune to a cable break when installed in a closed configuration. Each sensor detects up to the point of a break.
-
Advanced Signal Processing
Algorithms use pattern recognition for Classification and advanced background rejection leading to superior Probability of Detection and a low nuisance alarm rate.
-
Advanced Features
GPS mapping, detection of multiple simultaneous events, remote connectivity, and remote troubleshooting.
-
Immunity
The sensor is based on fiber-optic cable, which is Immune to EMI / RFI and lightning.
-
Certification
FCC Part 15 Subpart B Class A, CE (EMC Directive 2014/30/EU), ROHS.
Summary
The FR302-Classification system can be retrofitted on existing single-mode fibers in the data network cable bundle. Every second of the day a vast amount of highly sensitive data are transmitted via dedicated fiber-optic links, often running through miles of uncontrolled territory where they are readily accessible to highly sophisticated attackers. Data intercepts, sabotage, vandalism, and accidental damage all represent the operational risks faced by the link owners. The FR302 system is the most efficient and cost-effective way to mitigate such risks. Designed to sense minute vibrations, movement or other physical disturbances within a fiber network, the FR302 detects an intruder well before communication is compromised. Due to high detection sensitivity, the system protects all fiber strands in the cable as well as the other cables in a tight bundle. The system reports precise locations of intrusion attempts to facilitate prompt countermeasures. The FR302 system can be deployed to protect top-secret data transmission lines at military locations. In commercial applications, the FR302 system can be deployed to protect business, healthcare, and financial communication networks to ensure secure transmission of private and proprietary information.
