Wall Top Perimeter Security

Several FiberRanger systems can be used to detect and report intruders attempting to scale or breach masonry walls.

Highlights

100% Redundant Configuration for Reliability

Groundbreaking 100% redundant configuration designed from the bottom up to provide the highest reliability in the market. The redundant configuration uses either two FR202-Hybrid systems or two FR301 systems. Each system is hot swappable, and automatically turns on when the other system fails.

Small Form Factor

Smallest form factor in the market. A complete redundant configuration with two FR202-Hybrid units takes only 2U of space. One FR301 system also takes 2U of space. In addition to occupying less rack space, shipping and handling are made easy.

Simple Installation and Maintenance Free

Easy to install, calibrate, and tune. Zones are configured using software, adding flexibility to an installation. No electrical power required in the field, and can be retrofitted on most types of existing wall tops. Once installed, maintenance is extremely low.

Long Range and High Location Accuracy

Long Range (up to 80 km per system, up to 40 km each sensor) with pinpoint location accuracy of +/- 6 m. The system has 2 sensors.

Cut Immunity

The system is immune to a cable cut when installed in a loop configuration. Each sensor detects up to the point of a cut.

Advanced Signal Processing

Algorithms use pattern recognition for Classification and advanced background rejection leading to superior Probability of Detection and a low nuisance alarm rate.

Advanced Features

GPS mapping of site perimeter, detection of multiple simultaneous events, remote connectivity, and remote troubleshooting.

Immunity

The sensor is based on fiber optics cable, which is Immune to EMI / RFI and lightning.

Certification

FCC Part 15 Subpart B Class A, CE (EMC Directive 2014/30/EU), ROHS.

Summary

Masonry walls frequently comprise a part of or even the entire perimeter of high-value facilities, especially those located in urban areas. Monitoring walls against intrusion attempts is an essential component of perimeter protection. However, wall-mounted applications present a significant challenge to most intrusion detection systems originally developed for metal fencing. Compared to traditional fence-mounted sensors, the sensitivity of a wall-mounted sensor needs to increase drastically for effective intrusion detection.

The FiberRanger wall-mounted intrusion detection systems are based on revolutionary fiber-optic sensing technology, featuring unsurpassed sensitivity and sophisticated environmental rejection. The system detects any attempt to climb over the wall that disturbs the sensor cable. This includes such common intruder actions as leaning a ladder against the edge of the wall, tossing a rope over the wall, and grabbing the edge of the wall to pull up. The location-sensing abilities of the system also allow for pinpoint reporting of the position of an intrusion attempt, facilitating a swift and precise response to a given threat. These systems can be installed to monitor masonry walls, building facades, rooftops, bridges, and other solid architectural structures. Multiple cable installation options are available to effectively match wall construction, owner requirements, and budget targets. Depending on the selected installation approach, the sensor cable can protect the outer edge of the wall, both the outer and the inner edges, or the entire wall-top area. Low-profile cable installation has minimal impact on the appearance of decorative walls.

Products

FOL-101

FOL-101 system supports up to 8 zones, where each zone can be up to 500 m in length. The insensitive lead can be up to 20 km, which allows the FOL-101 system to be located in a control room far from the sensing zones.

FOL-102

FOL-102 system supports up to 32 zones, where each zone can be up to 500 m in length. The insensitive lead can be up to 20 km, which allows the FOL-102 system to be located in a control room far from the sensing zones.

FR302-Classification

Up to 80 km range (40 km each sensor) with +/- 6m location accuracy for wall top installations
